HFC retains its position in The Times’ ‘Best Law Firms 2020’ guide.

The guide is a directory of the best lawyers for commercial, public and private-client law in the top 200 legal practices in England and Wales.

The Firm is commended for family law and described as “one of a handful of firms trusted by billionaire businessmen and showbiz superstars to manage these sensitive proceedings” and “often mentioned in precedent-setting family cases and those involving complex areas of law”.

The Firm is also praised for excelling in matters linked to children that have an international element.

Partner Frances Hughes is recognised for her work representing the former supermodel Christina Estrada, who was awarded £75 million in her divorce from a Saudi billionaire, the latter of whom had tried to use his immunity to escape his former wife’s proceedings.

Partner Mark Harper is described as “an expert on international trusts”. He is acknowledged for his work on the divorce of the Viking Cruises founder Torstein Hagen, a case that became notorious for the £10 million legal bill run up by the warring couple, who eventually settled out of court.
