Partner Renato Labi recently spoke at IAFL’s Introduction to European Family Law Conference in Hamburg.

In collaboration with the Bucerius Law School, the conference spanned a broad range of issues relating to European family law, offering attendees practical guidance and insights for practicing cross-border.

Topics spanned from the intersection between family law and immigration law and legal perspectives on reproductive medicine, to the financial consequences of relationship breakdown in both married and unmarried couples.

Renato chaired a session titled ‘Divorce all over Europe’ alongside Daniela Ježová from Slovakia and Alexandre Boiché from France, in which they discussed several important cross-border cases from the perspective of their respective jurisdictions.

The conference took place on 23 and 24 October 2025, and it was attended by delegates from across 22 different jurisdictions.
