Pauline Fowler speaks at London Fashion Week
Pauline was delighted to be asked to speak at Edeline Lee’s Autumn 2019 Collection at LFW on 18 February. Inspired by Mary Beard’s seminal text “Women and Power”, Edeline wanted to give women a voice in an arena where, as she put it, “women are always seen, seldom heard”.
She gathered together a group of 35 powerful and dynamic women to speak for three minutes each on a subject close to their heart. Pauline discussed the history of women in law, paying homage to the female figures who led the way in fighting the injustices of the past, as well as touching on her own experiences as a woman lawyer.
Orators came from many different industries, including Tate Modern curator Zoe Whitley, Helena Morrissey of L&G, percussionist Evelyn Glennie, Jane Francis, Director of the British Antarctic Survey and House of Lords member Jane Bonham Carter.
